Mrs. Swainey Chase Payne of Bronx, N.Y., and formerly of Swan Quarter, died Tuesday, Oct. 16, 2007, at Workmen’s Circle Care Center in Bronx, N.Y.
A funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m. Monday in the chapel of Whitfield &Whitley Funeral Home, Washington, with the Rev. Anthony Roper officiating. Burial will follow in Green Hill Cemetery, Swan Quarter.
Mrs. Payne was a native of Hyde County. She was married to Luther Payne, who preceded her in death.
Survivors include one daughter, Ella Chase of Brooklyn, N.Y.; and one stepdaughter, Virginia Galloway of St. Clairsville, Ohio.
