Mrs. Joyce Alligood Henson

Mrs. Hilda “Joyce” Alligood Henson, 69, a resident of 105 Knight St., Sherwood Forest, died Friday, Oct. 19, 2007 at Beaufort County Hospital.
Graveside services will be held 2 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 23, 2007 at Oakdale Cemetery in Washington, conducted by the Rev. Danny Allen.
Mrs. Henson was born in Beaufort County on Jan. 26, 1938. She was the daughter of late Robert Edward Alligood and Millie Ann Clark Alligood Banks. Mrs. Henson lived in Cleveland, Ohio until her husband retired and they moved to Washington. She was a member of Peoples Methodist Church in Cleveland, Ohio. Mrs. Henson served as scorekeeper in the West Denison Little League baseball in Cleveland. She worked as a waitress at The Stage House Restaurant and Charlie Tom’s Restaurant in Washington.
Mrs. Henson was married to Bobby Ray Henson, who preceded her in death on May 7, 2004.
Survivors include one son, Robert Ernest Henson and his wife, Shelia of Fairview Park, Ohio; one daughter, Sheri Lynne Heath and her husband, Carlton of Vanceboro; two brothers, Robert E. “Blue” Alligood, Jr. and his wife, Nelda of Washington, Callas “Earl” Alligood and his wife, Vicki of Gulf Breeze, FL; three sisters, Maggie Elizabeth Alligood Womble of Washington, Peggy Jean Wilson and her husband, Benny of Greenville, Debbie Ann A. Tyndall and her husband, Sammy of Black Jack; two grandchildren, Ashley Henson and Brandon Wilkins; one step-grandchild, Shirley Gannon; brother-in-law, Slick Gaskins of Black Jack and dear friends, John Parker, Ann Moore and Julia Kukolvic.
In addition to her parents and her husband, Mrs. Henson was preceded in death by a sister, Evelyn Gaskins.
The family will receive friends from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Monday, Oct. 22, 2007 at Paul Funeral Home in Washington and other times at the home of her daughter, Sheri Heath of 2480 Wilmar Road, Vanceboro.
