Mr. Gary Leon Dudley, 52, of the Longpoint community, Maysville, died Monday, Oct. 29, 2007, at Craven Regional Medical Center in New Bern.
A funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m. Thursday in St. James A.M.E. Zion Church with the Rev. Cynthia B. Smith officiating. Burial will follow in Hill family cemetery.
Mr. Dudley was the son of Robert Howard Jr. of Maysville. He graduated from Jones Senior High School. He was married to Swanie Burden Dudley, who survives. He was employed with SPX Corp. as a refrigeration technician building compressors. He was a member of St. James A.M.E. Zion Church.
Survivors include one son, Travis Burden of Greenville; two daughters, Ashley Yolonda and Shayla Sade Dudley, both of the home; one grandchild; six brothers, Gerald Howard, Chuck Howard and George Morris, all of Maysville, Christopher Mattocks of Pollocksville, Perry Moore of Aurora and Robert Mattocks of Jacksonville; and four sisters, Sandra McElroy and Lisa Moore, both of Maysville, Adelaide Battle of Jamaica, N.Y., and Juanita Mattocks of Jacksonville.
The family will receive friends today from 6-7 p.m. at Morgan Funeral Home, Jacksonville; Thursday from noon to 1 p.m. at St. James A.M.E. Zion Church and other times at the home.
