Mr. Todd “Tootie” Singleton, age 41, of 163 Chesterfield Drive in Washington, N.C. died suddenly on Friday morning, November 2, 2007.
Funeral services will be 3 p.m. Sunday, November 4, 2007 at the First Christian Church and will be conducted by Dr. Michael Price and the Rev. Amanda Driskill. Burial will follow at Oakdale Cemetery.
Tootie was born in Raleigh on July 13, 1966 the son of John Graham and Kathryn Everett Singleton who survive him. Tootie grew up in Garner, N.C. and graduated from Garner Senior High School in 1984. He was active in Boy Scout Troop No. 391 and received the Eagle award in 1982. He moved to Washington, N.C. in the late 1980s to work on the family farm. For the past several years he was the owner and operator of BTS Wood Services. Tootie knew people all over the Washington and Beaufort Co. area and was a friend to all. He was an active member of the First Christian Church in Washington, loved N.C. State sports, watching any program on the Western Channel, especially Gunsmoke, and having fun with his many friends. He had a great sense of humor that was infectious, and those who knew Tootie have many stories and good times to remember him by.
Tootie is survived by his parents, Graham and Kathryn Singleton of Garner; his brother, Gra and his wife Tracey of Garner; his nieces and nephew who loved him dearly, Rachel Singleton, Harrison Singleton, and Emma Grace Singleton, all of Garner; his step-grandmother, Eva Mae Singleton of Washington; several aunts and an uncle, many cousins, many friends, and his church family at First Christian Church in Washington; his beloved neighbors on Chesterfield Drive and his pets.
The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. Saturday, November 3, 2007 at Paul Funeral Home of Washington.
Flowers are welcome and the family kindly asks that memorial contributions may be made to the First Christian Church, 401 E. 2nd St. Washington, NC 27889 or to the Beaufort Co. Humane Society, P.O. Box 8, Washington, NC 27889.
