Mrs. Pattie Snell Spear, 80, of Creswell, died Sunday, Nov. 4, 2007, at Two Rivers At Trent Campus, New Bern.
A funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m. Friday in Creswell Baptist Church with the Revs. Eddie Coltrain and Ray Truitt officiating. Burial will follow in Philippi Church of Christ Cemetery.
Mrs. Spear was born in Tyrrell County on Nov. 10, 1926. She was the daughter of the late Charlie W. and Eva Woodard Snell. She was married to Isaac Junior Spear, who preceded her in death. She was co-owner of Spear Hardware. She was a member of Creswell Baptist Church.
Survivors include three daughters, Eva S. Williams of Roper, Debbie S. Davenport of Rocky Mount, and Agnes Wiggins of Asheville; two sons, Todd Spear of New Bern, and Michael Spear of Houston, Texas; one sister, Peggy S. Matthews of Fuquay-Varina; four grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by one sister, Rebecca S. Etheridge and six brothers, Charles Snell, Marvin Snell, Britt Snell, Colon Snell, Worth Snell and Jacob Snell.
The family will receive friends Thursday from 7-9 p.m. at Maitland Funeral Home, Creswell.
