MANLY, IOWA — Carsie E. Bakken, 64, of Manly died Sunday (November 4, 2007) at her home after a brief bout with cancer.
A celebration of Carsie’s life and public viewing was held from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday (November 7, 2007) at Hogan-Bremer-Moore Colonial Chapel, 126 3rd St NE, Mason City, Iowa. Burial will be in Haw Branch Church Cemetery, Chocowinity, North Carolina.
Carsie E. Bakken was born March 20, 1943 at Washington, North Carolina, a daughter of Donald and Stella (Nelson) Dale.
Carsie owned, The Bookery, at 12 S. Federal, Mason City, Iowa. She devoted her life to her family and her passion of books.
She will be missed by many and loved by all. God Bless her always.
She is survived by her husband, Donald Bakken; five children, Donald Twitty, Carisa Riles, Christine Twitty, Dwayne (Paula) Twitty, Darrell Twitty; step-daughter, Dee Ann (Michael) Ivonilli; four grandchildren, Haden Riles, Austin Twitty, Christopher Ivonilli, and Corey Ivonilli; brother, Clinton Dale and family.
Her parents, brother, Creston Dale and sisters in-law, Carol Dale and Iris Dale, preceded her in death.
