Mr. James Shelton Wynne, 63, of 1473 Johnny Griffin Road, Robersonville, died Thursday, Nov. 8, 2007, at Pitt County Memorial Hospital in Greenville.
A funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday in the chapel of Biggs Funeral Home, Williamston, with Mike Brandt and Randal Burton officiating. Burial will follow in Martin Memorial Gardens.
Mr. Wynne was born in Martin County on March 15, 1944. He was the son of the late Shelton T. and Helen Barnhill Wynne. On May 2, 1965, he married Irene Roberson, who survives. In May 2006, he retired from the N.C. Highway Patrol with 28 years of service as a radio engineering supervisor. He was a member of Southside Church of Christ.
Survivors include one daughter, Tanya Wynne of Williamston; one son, Joel B. Wynne of Sylva and four grandchildren.
The family will receive friends today from 7-8:30 p.m. at Biggs Funeral Home, Williamston, and other times at the home.
