Kathleen Cross Davis, 85, of Roanoke Rapids, died Friday, November 16, 2007 at Halifax Regional Medical Center.
Mrs. Davis was a native of Halifax County, the daughter of the late Gerald Robert Cross and Pearl Fowler Cross. She was a member of All Saints Episcopal Church. Mrs. Davis, along with her husband, owned and operated Davis Realty and Insurance Company. She was the first female to run for city council in the history of Roanoke Rapids.
Mrs. Davis is survived by her husband, William S. “Bill” Davis Sr.; her son, William S. “Bill” Davis Jr. and his wife, Lynn, of Chocowinity, NC.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, November 18, at All Saints Episcopal Church with the Rev. Marjorie Holm officiating. Burial will follow at Cedarwood Cemetery in Roanoke Rapids.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to All Saint’s Episcopal Church Women, 635 Hamilton St., Roanoke Rapids, NC.
