Mrs. Marie Clark Swindell, 84, of 11162 N.C. Highway 92 East, Bath, died Wednesday, Nov. 21, 2007, at home.
Mrs. Swindell was born in the Gaylords community of Beaufort County on Oct. 17, 1923. She was the daughter of the late Frank A. and Mary Cox Clark. On May 6, 1942, she married Howard T. Swindell, who preceded her in death Sept. 9, 1995. She was a homemaker.
Survivors include one daughter, Paula S. Null of Bath; one brother, Frank A. Clark of Bath; and five sisters, Joliene B. Clark and Winnie F. Hylton, both of Chesapeake, Va., Sylvia A. Mills of Greenville, Mary F. Woolard of Bath and Wanda M. Foreman of Pinetown.
She was preceded in death by one son, Norman Howard Swindell; four brothers, Donald S. Clark, Lural M. Clark, Stephen C. Clark, Mylon R. Clark; and one sister, Liddie Estelle Cretens.
The family will receive friends Sunday from 2-4 p.m. at Paul Funeral Home, Washington.
