Mrs. Mary E. Brown-Hart, 80, of 393 Linda Drive, Washington, and formerly of Plymouth, died Sunday, Nov. 25, 2007, at Pitt County Memorial Hospital in Greenville.
A funeral will be conducted today at 2 p.m. in Pentecostal Temple Church of God in Christ, Plymouth, with Elder Enoch Williams Sr. officiating. Burial will follow in Spruill Eternal Rest Cemetery, Plymouth.
Mrs. Hart was born in Martin County on Sept. 14, 1927. She was the daughter of the late Kader and Kathleen Stokes Brown. In 1946, she married Columbus Hart, who survives. She was an alumni of the Washington public schools. She worked as a machine operator at Weyerhaeuser Co. until her retirement. She was a member of Christ Ministries Whosoever Will Church, Washington, where she was a member of the Mother Board.
Survivors include two sons, Calvin D. Hart and Christopher C. Hart, both of Rocky Mount; one daughter, Sheila A. Williams of Washington; one sister, Mildred Downing of Plymouth; three brothers, Wallace Brown of Plymouth, Erving Brown of West Virginia and Herbert Brown of Mount Vernon, N.Y.; and a host of grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by one daughter, Sandra E. Norman.
Arrangements are by Puckett-Purkett Funeral Service, Roper.
