James Clinton Woolard, 88, of 4830 Cherrry Run Road, Washington, died Thursday, Dec. 6. 2007, at Britthaven of Washington.
A funeral will be held at 12:30 p.m. Monday, Dec. 10, 2007, at the Davis Chapel Missionary Baptist Church, Cherry Run Road, Washington, with Bishop Jack Jones officiating. Burial will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery.
Mr. Woolard was born in Martin County on June 30, 1919, son of the late Llewenlyn and Della Harris Woolard. He attended the public schools of Martin County. He was married to Carrie Jones Woolard, who precced him in death in May 1983.
Mr. Woolard was retired from the N.C. Department of Transportation where he was a heavy equipment operator. He was preceded in death by one daughter, Ollie Woolard Peterson; two sons, James Clinton Woolard and Llewenlyn Woolard; and all of his brothers and sisters.
Survivors include two daughters, Verna Howard of Washington and Della Guzman of Aurora, Colorado; and eight grandchildren.
The family will receive friends at the home of his daughter, Verna Howard, 4820 Cherry Run Road, Washington.
Public viewing will be from 1 to 7 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
Arrangements are by Randolph Funeral Home, 219 N. Bonner St., Washington.
