James P. “Buddy” Dickerson

Mr. James Perry “Buddy” Dickerson, 80, of Mobleys Bridge Road, Grimesland, died Saturday, Dec. 8, 2007, at Pitt County Memorial Hospital in Greenville.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday in the chapel of Wilkerson Funeral with the Revs. James Ed Gurkins and Ken White officiating. Burial will follow in Pinewood Memorial Park.
Mr. Dickerson was a native of Pitt County and a life long resident of the Galloway’s Crossroads community. He was a farmer and worked for the Department of Conservation and Development. He later started his own construction business and did trim work until his retirement because of his failing health.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Nick and Carey Dickerson; a sister, Ethel Lee Bibbs; and a half brother, Raymond Dickerson.
Survivors include his wife, Annie Gaskins Dickerson; three sons, Douglas Dickerson and Tim Dickerson, both of Grimesland, and Earl Dickerson of Washington; four sisters, Lucy Bird of Kinston, Annie Ree Moore of Washington, Dallas Williams of Hampton, Va., and Lena Summerlin of Snow Hill; three grandchildren, two step-granchildren, six great-grandchildren and one step great-grandchild.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Wilkerson Funeral Home and other times at the home on Mobleys Bridge Rd.
