Mrs. Lalah Kay Strickland Dennard, 63, a resident of 2395 Old Pamlico Beach Road West, Belhaven, NC died Sunday December 9, 2007 at Beaufort County Hospital.
A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday December 12, 2007 at Belhaven Missionary Baptist Church conducted by Rev. Dean Fulford.
Mrs. Dennard was born on March 15, 1944 daughter of the late William Harvey Strickland and the late Lalah Driver Strickland. She was a graduate of Wilson Fike High School and East Carolina University. Mrs. Dennard served as Food Services Director for the Beaufort County Schools for many years until her retirement. In 1992, she married Emory Jack Dennard Jr. who preceded her in death. Mrs. Dennard was a member of the Belhaven Missionary Baptist Church and was active in the John A. Wilkinson Foundation.
Mrs. Dennard is survived by her two sons; Walt Finch and his wife Gwen of Greensboro, NC and David Finch and his wife Emily of Charlotte and four grandchildren; Leah, Maggie, Shelby and Will.
The family will receive friends at the church following the memorial service on Wednesday.
