Mr. George William Holley Sr., 82, of 128 W. 12th St., Washington, died Monday, Dec. 10, 2007, at home.
A funeral will be conducted at noon Friday in Metropolitan AME Zion Church, Washington, with the Rev. David L. Ollison Sr. officiating. Burial will follow in Cedar Hill Cemetery.
Mr. Holley was born in Washington on June 26, 1925. He attended the Washington city public schools. On Oct. 22, 1948, he married the former Doris Louise Clark. His employment was in the logging industry until he and his wife moved to New York, N.Y., where he was employed by the Careful Cleaning Co. for more than 35 years. After retirement, he relocated to Washington. He was a member of Mt. Olive AME Zion Church.
Survivors include five children, Carolyn Chisolm, George Holley Jr., Leticia Howse, Michelle Sledge and Shawdina La Sane; five brothers, Nathaniel Holley, Jimmy Holley, John Holley Jr., Andrew Holley and James Holley; two sisters, Sally Munion and Evealine Moseley; 12 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends at the home.
Arrangements are by Randolph Funeral Home, 219 N. Bonner St., Washington.
