Mrs. Ellen Elizabeth Hudson Burden, age 56, a resident of 601 E. 5th Street, Washington, died Wednesday morning December 12, 2007 at Pitt County Memorial Hospital.
A funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Friday December 14, 2007 at the Chapel of Paul Funeral Home in Washington, officiated by Pastor David Bolick.
Erica Leigh Burden, Kelli Montez Harper and Todd Christian Frisbie will serve as honorary pallbearers.
Mrs. Burden was born in Beaufort County of February 27, 1951, daughter of the late Roy Young Hudson and Brownie Elizabeth Lee Hudson. On November 9, 1975, she married Mickey Owen Burden who survives. She was employed as a CSR at Beaufort County Hospital. She attended First Church of Christ in Washington.
Mrs. Burden is survived by her daughter: Erica Burden of the home; her brothers: Scott Young Hudson and his wife, Denise of Hillsborough and Cleveland Hudson of Washington; her sister: Anne Hudson Kennedy and her husband, E.J.; her nephews: Todd Frisbie and his son, Matthew; Chad Hudson and his wife, Stacy and their son, Brandon; Clayton Hudson, Curtis Hudson, Grover Hudson and Carlton Hudson; her brother-in-law: Gary Burden and his wife, Sue of Cocoa Beach, FL and special friends of the family: Kelli Montez Harper, Edith Fortuna and Patsy Weatherington.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her son: Patrick Michael Knipple and her brother-in-law: Leo Riggs.
The family will receive friends 7-9 p.m. Thursday at Paul Funeral Home in Washington and other times at 113 Jackson Street, Washington.
