Mr. Wilbur Ross “Bill” McKinney, 75, of 515 Pinecrest Ave., Roanoke Rapids, died Saturday, Dec. 15, 2007, at M.C.V. Hospital in Richmond, Va.
A funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday in the chapel of Hockaday Funeral Home, Roanoke Rapids, with the Rev. Arnold G. Cooper officiating. Burial will follow in Cedarwood Cemetery.
Mr. McKinney was the son of the late Romulus Oscar and Ava McKinney. He was married to Mary Fisher McKinney, who survives. He retired from N.C. Power with 32 years of service. He was a member of Lakeview Park Baptist Church.
Survivors include two sons, Dwight R. McKinney and Chris McKinney, both of Roanoke Rapids; three daughters, Trudi M. Taylor of Roanoke Rapids, Lanette M. Ritter of Camden and Libby McKinney of Kernersville; three brothers, Gene McKinney, Roger McKinney and Ronnie McKinney, all of Chesapeake, Va.; one sister, Barbara Ann Peck of Chesapeake, Va.; eight grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends today from 7-8:30 p.m. at Hockaday Funeral Home, Roanoke Rapids, and other times at the home.
