Mrs. Iola Griffin Jones Moore, 88, a resident of Vintage Inn Retirement Center, Williamston, died Wednesday, Dec. 19, 2007, at the Vintage Inn.
A funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday in the chapel of Biggs Funeral Home with Dolan Baker and Greg Sexton officiating. Burial will follow in the Jones family cemetery.
Mrs. Moore was born in Martin County on June 25, 1919. She was the daughter of the late James Thomas Griffin and Pattie Mizell Griffin. On Dec. 23, 1940, she married Eustice Jones, who preceded her in death Feb. 5, 1987. In 1990, she married Marshall Moore, who preceded her in death in 1996. She worked with N.C. Cooperative inspection until her retirement. She was a member of Macedonia Christian Church.
Survivors include one daughter, Linda Jones Whitley of Williamston; one son, Jerry Lynn Jones of Williamston; three sisters, Gloria G. Bowen of Williamston, Doris G. Knowles of Windsor and Judy G. Ellis of Rocky Mount; six grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by three brothers and one sister.
The family will receive friends today from 7-8:30 p.m. at Biggs Funeral Home and other times at the home of her daughter, 2760 Big Mill Road.
