Mr. James Warren Conner, 85, of 325 U.S. Highway 17 North, Windsor, died Tuesday, Dec. 18, 2007, at Pitt County Memorial Hospital in Greenville.
A graveside service with military rites will be conducted at 3 p.m. Friday in the Conner family cemetery with the Rev. Brian Medlin officiating.
Mr. Conner was born in Bertie County on Oct. 14, 1922. He was the son of the late Whitfield and Lellie Ward Conner. He served in the Army during World War II. He was a retired farmer. He was married to Ellen Bell Conner, who survives. He was a member of Greens Cross Baptist Church.
Survivors include two daughters, Patricia C. Copeland and Linda C. White, both of Windsor; one son, James Michael Conner of Clemmons; one sister, Virginia C. Myers of Merry Hill and four grandchildren.
The family will receive friends today from 7-8:30 p.m. at Walker Funeral Home, Windsor, and other times at the home of Patsy Copeland, 1113 U.S. Highway 17 North, Windsor.
