Edward Maroules, 76, of Kinston passed away on Thursday, December 20, 2007. Mr. Maroules was born in Pitt County on September 6, 1931 to the late Speros Christopher and Martha Lee Braxton Maroules. He was a member of St. Mary’s Episcopal Church; York Rite Bodies, Jester; member of Richard Caswell Masonic Lodge No. 705; a Shriner and past president of Lenoir County Shrine Club, served his Country with the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. Ed was Owner and Operator of Greene’s TV and Appliance Company and the Mall Record Shop at Vernon Park Mall. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his sister, Angela Maroules Byrd and brother Jimmy Maroules.
Survivors include his wife of fifty-six years, Evelyn Banks Maroules of the home; daughter, Connie June Maroules Snow and husband Kenneth of Washington; sons, Edward S. Maroules and wife Marie of Kinston and George Michael Maroules and wife Kelley of Swansboro; grandchildren, Edward “Trey” Maroules, Michael Maroules, Elizabeth Maroules and Zachary Maroules; step-granddaughter, Sierra Austin; brothers, Christopher S. Maroules, Thomas S. Maroules and Billy S. Maroules, all of Kinston; sisters, Margaret Thorpe of Kinston, Eula Nichols Huffman of TN, Juanita Harris of Greenville, NC and Victoria Darling of South Carolina; special nephew Johnny Byrd and beloved dog, Buddy.
The family will receive friends from 7-9 p.m. Saturday, December 22, 2007 at Howard-Carter Funeral Home and at other times at home, 809 Westover Avenue, Kinston. Masonic Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, December 23, 2007 at Pinelawn Memorial Park.
Memorials may be made in his honor to the American Cancer Society, 930-B Wellness Drive, Greenville, NC 27834.
