Mrs. Mae Grantham Duke, 83, passed away Saturday, December 22, 2007. She was born on January 21, 1924 to the late Elijah M. and Florence Eloy Hester Grantham in Augusta, Georgia. She was preceded in death by her husband, William Benjamin Duke.
She is survived by her son, Joseph Benjamin “Skipper” Duke and wife Sylvia of Greenville, N.C.; her daughter, Ann Duke Cobb and husband Bill of Rocky Mount, N.C.; her brother Donald Anthony Grantham and wife Carol of Augusta, Georgia; her granddaughters, Jennifer Duke Batten and husband Mitch, Jodi Duke Pandure and husband Ralph of North Myrtle Beach, South Carolina; her grandsons, Willis Edwin Cobb IV and fianc/ Susan Anderson of Raleigh, William Benjamin Cobb and wife Karen of Pinetops; her four great-grandchildren Jackson and Lizzie Batten, Davis and Gracie Pandure of North Myrtle Beach, South Carolina; and her beloved miniature Schnauzer, Dolly.
A graveside service will be held December 26, 2007 at 11 a.m. in Oakdale Cemetery, Washington, N.C. with the Reverend Sylvia Tripp Duke officiating. The family will receive friends following the graveside service at the First United Methodist Church Fellowship Hall.
