Mr. Sterling Rickard, 64, of 13719 U.S. Highway 264, Swan Quarter, died Thursday, Dec. 27, 2007, at home.
A funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m. Monday in Jobes Chapel Missionary Baptist Church with Elder Levi Murray officiating. Burial will follow in Brown Memorial Cemetery, Engelhard.
Mr. Rickard was born in Hyde County on Sept. 23, 1943. He was the son of Carrie B. Rickard and the late James E. Rickard Sr. He was married to Deborah Harris Rickard, who survives.
Survivors include three sons, Christopher Rickard and Terrance Rickard, both of Texas, and Dexter Rickard of North Carolina; one daughter, Gina R. Reynolds of Florida; four sisters, Thelma R. Spencer of Virginia and Cathy Rickard, Rosie Rickard and Laura Rickard, all of Engelhard; three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one sister, Rebecca Rickard.
The family will receive friends at the home.
