Ms. Lucy Jane Mills, age 60, a resident of 723 NC Hwy. 33 West, Chocowinity, NC died Monday December 31, 2007 at the Beaufort County Hospital.
A funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Wednesday January 2, 2008 at Paul Funeral Home of Washington officiated by Rev. George Jones and Rev. Richard Sheriff. Burial will follow in Oakdale Cemetery. Tommy Boyd, Aubrey Moore, Andrew Wells, Harold Smith, James Wells and Jon Wells will serve as pallbearers.
Ms. Mills was born in Beaufort County on October 12, 1947 daughter of the late Jesse Elmer Mill, Sr. and Aileen Buck Mills who survives. She was a graduate of the former Chocowinity High School and continued her education at Beaufort County Community College where she earned her Licensed Practical Nursing Degree. Ms. Mills worked for thirty years at the Beaufort County Hospital. She was a member of Chocowinity United Methodist Church.
Surviving along with her mother Aileen Mills of Chocowinity is a sister: Patsy Jones Lang and her husband Harold of Kinston; two nephews: Gary Hodges and his wife Cindy of Windsor and Ted Hodges and his wife Dr. Shandal Emanuel of Rocky Mount; three nieces: Natalie Jones of Chocowinity, Christy Fyle and her husband Tom of Wilson and Jessica Mills of Chocowinity; great nephews and nieces: Nicholas and Lauren Dotson, Katie, Amanda and Tommy Fyle, Julie, Jessica and Gerringer Hodges and Sequoia Hodges; a special Aunt: Janice Boyd and two special friends: Dawn Carawan and Nellie Downing.
The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday January 1, 2008 at Paul Funeral Home of Washington.
