Mrs. Yvette Griffin Artis, 40, a resident of 1590 Bear Grass Road, Washington, died Saturday, Dec. 29, 2007, at her home.
A funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m. Thursday at Word of Life Worship Center with Bishop Aaron McCarter officiating. Burial will follow in Oakdale Cemetery.
Mrs. Artis was born April 2, 1967. She was the daughter of Frank Griffin and Queenie Griffin. She was married to Eugene Artis, who survives. She was a member of Word of Life Worship Center, where she was a member of the choir and a Sunday school teacher. She graduated from Beaufort County schools. She was a teacher’s assistant at John Small Elementary School.
Survivors include a daughter, Courtney S. Artis of Washington; a son, Joshua D. Artis of Washington; a sister, Rachel O’Pharrow of Grimesland; three brothers, Robert Griffin Sr. of Raleigh, Jerome Griffin of Greenville and James Griffin of Jamesville.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Jeffrey Griffin.
The family will receive friends from 2 p.m. until 8 p.m. today at Leon Randolph Memorial Chapel and other times at the home.
