Mr. Robert E. “Bob” Swain, 74, of 1575 Prison Camp Road, Williamston, died Saturday, Jan. 5, 2008, at home.
A funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Monday at Biggs chapel in Williamston, officiated by the Rev. Roger Leggett. Burial will follow at Martin Memorial Gardens.
Swain owned Swain Plumbing and Heating and retired in 1991. He was born Sept. 10, 1933, in Bertie County, son of Cleppheus Ranson Swain and Myrtle Parrisher, Swain who both preceded him in death. On Sept. 9, 1955, he married Mabel Casper, who survives.
Survivors include a daughter, Vickie Perry of Williamston; a son, Bert Swain of Williamston; five brothers, Norman Swain, Jack Bowen, Irving Bowen, Dee Bowen and Tommy Bowen, all of Williamston; four sisters, Helen Williams, Evelyn Gurganus and Patricia Revels, all of Williamston, and Cleo Campbell of Chesapeake, Va.; and four grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. today at Biggs Funeral Home and other times at the home.
