Mr. Archie J. Nash Sr., 83, of Plymouth, died Monday, Jan. 7, 2008.
A memorial service will be held Thursday at 11:30 a.m. in the chapel of Smith &Austin Funeral Home, Plymouth.
Mr. Nash was born in Richwood, W.Va., the son of the late Samuel and Alta W. Nash. He moved to Plymouth in 1937. He served in the Army during World War II. He was employed with Weyerhaeuser for almost 50 years, retiring as a paper machine superintendent.
Survivors include one son, A.J. Nash Jr. of Cary; two daughters, Lynn Nash of Plymouth, and Brandy Ruffin of Wichita Falls, Texas; four grandchildren; six great-grandchildren and one sister, Doris Lee Bateman of Plymouth.
He was preceded in death by three brothers, William Nash, Ray Nash and Hugh Nash and one sister, Katherine Banks.
The family will receive friends 30 minutes prior to the memorial service.
