Mrs. Barbara Oliver Doughtie, 73, of Plymouth, died Wednesday, Jan. 9, 2008, at Plumblee Nursing Center, Plymouth.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday in First Christian Church, Plymouth, with the Rev. V. Thomas Banks officiating.
Mrs. Doughtie was born in Washington County on Aug. 16, 1934. She was the daughter of the late Pearlie and Dera May Jackson Oliver. She was married to James Albert Doughtie, who survives. She was medical records director for Washington County Hospital for 32 years. She was a member of First Christian Church, Plymouth.
Survivors include two sons, James A. Doughtie Jr. of Washington and John A. Doughtie of Bailey; three sisters, Faye Simmons of Edenton, Lois Rouse of Trenton and Ollie Ruth Gardner of Greenville; two brothers, Russell Oliver of Plymouth and Eddie Oliver of San Bernadino, Calif.; and three grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, Jack Oliver and Douglas Oliver.
The family will receive friends Saturday following the memorial service in the fellowship hall of First Christian Church, Plymouth.
