Mr. Nathaniel Laws Jr. of Hampton, Va., and formerly of Washington, died Tuesday, Jan. 8, 2008.
A funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m. Saturday in Canaan Baptist Church, Hampton, Va. Burial will follow in Hampton Memorial Gardens.
Mr. Laws was the son of Nathaniel and Mary St. Clair Laws. He graduated from P.S. Jones High School in 1965 and later graduated from A&T State University in Greensboro. He was married to Queen S. Laws, who survives. He retired from Hampton University.
Survivors include one daughter, Kimberly Peddrew; one son, Nathaniel “Chip” Laws; one sister, Diane Laws; one brother, Reginald Laws of Washington and five grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one sister, Claudette Laws Bennett.
The body may be viewed today from noon to 7 p.m. at Cooke Bros. Funeral Chapel, 1601-27th St., Newport News, VA 23607.
