Mr. Bobby Bray Freeman, 67, of Creswell died Saturday, January 12, 2008 at Pitt County Memorial Hospital, Greenville.
Born July 4, 1940 in Washington County, he was the son of the late William Thomas and Ruby Basnight Freeman and was preceded in death by his brothers, Henry L. Freeman, Sr. and William T. “Tommy” Freeman, Jr. Mr. Freeman was owner of Freeman’s Grocery and member of Philippi Church of Christ. He was a U.S. Army veteran and member of American Legion Post 391.
His family includes his former wife, Som K. Freeman of Creswell, N.C., daughter, Sylvia F. Brickhouse and husband Barry of Columbia, N.C.; sisters, Doris F. White of Vanceboro, N.C., Frances F. Tetterton of Jamesville, N.C., and Neil F. Asby of Windsor, N.C.; brothers, Donald B. Freeman of Greenville, N.C., Luther S. Freeman of Chocowinity, N.C., Larry E. Freeman of Ahoskie, N.C., Clarence E. “Bud” Freeman of Sneads Ferry, N.C., and Marshall D. Freeman of Apex, N.C.; grandchildren, Brian J. Brickhouse, Carrie L. Brickhouse and Wesley T. Brickhouse.
A memorial service will be held Monday, January 14, 2008 at 11 a.m. in the Philippi Church of Christ, Creswell, with pastor Glenn Brickhouse officiating. Family will receive friends following the services in the church fellowship hall. Arrangements are by Maitland Funeral Home, Creswell.
