Ms. Barbara Jean Morey, 56, of U.S. Highway 264 East, Washington, died Monday, Jan. 14, 2008, at home.
A graveside service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Pamlico Memorial Gardens with pastor Ken Cash officiating.
Ms. Morey was born in Essex County, New Jersey, on Nov. 11, 1951. She was the daughter of George W. Morey Jr. of Lakewood, N.J., and Gladys Marjorie Deakin Morey of Whiting, N.J. She was a graduate of Madison Township High School in New Jersey and received an associate degree from Brookdale Community College in New Jersey. She was an Air Force veteran. She was a nursing coordinator for Almost Family in Sarasota, Fla., prior to moving to North Carolina. She was a member of American Legion Post No. 276. She was a member of First Free Will Baptist Church, Washington.
Survivors include four sisters, Susan Parks of Severn, Md., Judy Morey of Washington, Robin Williams of Clarksville, Tenn., and Sherri Taylor of Tinton Falls, N.J.; and two brothers, Jeff Morey of Charleston, S.C., and Robert Taylor of Denver, Colo.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to The First Free Will Baptist Church Relay for Life team, 901 N. Bonner St., Washington, NC 27889.
