Mr. Emanuel Small Sr., 80, of 612 Garretts Road, Plymouth, died Sunday, Jan. 13, 2008, at Plumblee Nursing Center, Plymouth.
A funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m. Friday in Second Zion Grove Missionary Baptist Church, Plymouth, with the Rev. Hubert Judon officiating. Burial will follow in Small Cemetery, Plymouth.
Mr. Small was born in Washington County on March 14, 1927. He was the son of the late Sidney Small and Clara Bond Small Sharpe. He retired after 43 years as a chipper operator with Weyerhaeuser Company. He was a member of Second Zion Grove Missionary Baptist Church, Plymouth.
Survivors include two daughters, Senya C. Norman and Wanda Lynn Hyman, both of Plymouth; three sons, Emanuel Small Jr., Tyrone Small and Robert V. Small, all of Plymouth; eight grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; three brothers, Albert Small, Tarton Small and Charlie Sharpe Jr., all of Plymouth; and five sisters, Annie Ruffin, Vienia Blount, Castolee Small and Paris Jacobs, all of Plymouth, and Lavender Murray of Newport News, Va.
He was preceded in death by one son, Alban Lee Small in 1988 and three brothers, Fred Small Sr., Warren Small Sr. and Elmer Camp.
The family will receive friends today from 6-8 p.m. at Puckett-Purkett Funeral Service, Roper.
