Mrs. Pearl A. Woolard

Mrs. Pearl Alligood Woolard, age 89, a resident of Terrapin Track Road, Washington, died Wednesday, January 16, 2008, at Beaufort County Hospital in Washington.
Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, January 19, 2008, from the Chapel of Paul Funeral Home, Washington, conducted by Tony Krantz, Richard Smartnick and Pastor Phillip Jethro. Burial will follow in Woolard Family Cemetery, Terrapin Track Road, Washington.
Mrs. Woolard’s grandsons will serve as pallbearers: G. Scott Martin, Michael Bowen, Jeffery Bowen, Ray Pippin, Jr., Blake Bullock and Michael Tetterton, Jr. Honorary pallbearers will be Billy Singleton, Lane Alligood, Clarence “Buddy” Alligood, Sterling Woolard and Todd Cutler.
Mrs. Woolard was born in Beaufort County on November 7, 1918. She was the daughter of the late James Taylor Alligood and Lula Viola Roberson Alligood. Mrs. Woolard was a homemaker and loved to work in her yard. She was a member of Beaver Dam Church of Christ.
On January 7, 1938, she married Ernel Woolard, who preceded her in death, February 28, 1985.
Mrs. Woolard is survived by five daughters, Linda Lou Martin and her husband, Donald of Raleigh, Nelda Rae Bowen and her husband, Glenn, Peggy Jean Pippin and her husband, Ray, Melitta Ann Bullock and her husband, Ward all of Washington, Lori Nannette Tetterton and her husband, Michael Tetterton, Sr. of Bailey, N.C.; 11 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, two step great-grandchildren and two special sisters-in-law, Mabel Alligood and Doris Woolard both of Washington.
In addition to her parents and her husband, Mrs. Woolard was preceded in death by a great- grandson, Nathan Scott Martin, two sisters, Lucy Alligood and Nellie Alligood and three brothers, Fred Alligood, Woodrow Alligood and William Alligood.
The family will receive friends from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Friday, January 18, 2008, at Paul Funeral Home, Washington and other times at the home on Terrapin Track Road, Washington.
