Mr. Michael Robert Garrett, 56, of Roper, died unexpectedly Tuesday, Jan. 22, 2008, at Washington County Hospital in Plymouth.
A memorial service will be held at 7 p.m. Friday in the chapel of Maitland Funeral Home, Creswell, with pastor Donald Conway officiating.
Mr. Garrett was born in Norfolk, Va., on April 13, 1951. He was the son of the late Thomas L. and Lona Lester Garrett. He worked as a carpenter for many years.
Survivors include one son, Michael Wayne Garrett of Roper; one brother, Thomas L. Garrett Jr. of Plymouth; two sisters, Sharon Stutzman and Carolyn Garrett, both of Sevierville, Tenn. and one grandchild.
The family will receive friends Friday following the memorial service at Maitland Funeral Home, Creswell.
