Mrs. Cleo Knight Cobb, 85, of 4799 Cherry Run Road, Washington, died Sunday, Jan. 27, 2008.
A funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Temple of Jesus Christ United Church with the Rev. Dr. C.B. Gray officiating. Burial will follow in the Cobb family cemetery.
Mrs. Cobb was born in Suffolk, Va., on May 7, 1922. She was the daughter of the late Watson and Lizzie White Knight. On Jan. 14, 1938, she married James Cobb Sr., who survives. She was a homemaker. She was a member of Davis Chapel Missionary Baptist Church, where she served on the church Mother’s Board and with the Willing Workers.
Survivors include five daughters, Matilda Daniels, Willie Cleo Porter, Sarah Green and Valerie Riddick, all of Washington, and Clara Marie Thompson of East Orange, N.J.; two sons, Arthur Cobb Jr. of Winterville and Jerry Adam Cobb of Washington; 31 grandchildren and a host of great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by one daughter, Maggie Floyd; one son, James Adam Cobb; five sisters and five brothers.
The family will receive friends at the home. A walk-through viewing will be held today from 2-8 p.m. at Randolph Funeral Home, 219 N. Bonner St., Washington.
