Mrs. Geraldine Phelps Carr, 83, of 1220 Roosevelt Ave., Plymouth, died Saturday, Feb. 9, 2008, at Washington County Hospital in Plymouth.
A funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m. Friday in Pentecostal Temple Church of God in Christ, Plymouth, with Elder Mildren L. Wilson officiating. Burial will follow in Ellis Lee cemetery, Plymouth.
Mrs. Carr was born in Washington County on Feb. 15, 1924. She was the daughter of the late Mary Miller Paxton and John Phelps Sr. She was a homemaker. She was married to Frank Carr, who survives. She was a member of Pentecostal Temple Church of God in Christ, Plymouth, where she served on the Mother board, usher board and in the women’s choir.
Survivors include four sons, Harry Carr of the home, Melvin Carr of Savannah, Ga., Herman Carr of Plymouth and Donald Carr of Atlanta, Ga.; 22 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by one son, Joe Carr; three brothers, John Lee Phelps, Willie Lee Phelps and Harry Johnson and three sisters, Ruth Greene, Dorothy Bullock and Clara Lewis.
The family will receive friends today from 7-8 p.m. at Pentecostal Temple Church of God in Christ, Plymouth.
Arrangements are by Puckett-Purkett Funeral Service, Roper.
