Danny Merritt Deaver, 53, of 3877 Riverneck Road, Columbia, died late Wednesday night, February 13, 2008, at Chowan Hospital Skilled Care Facility, Edenton.
Born in Tyrrell County, November 4, 1954, he was the son of the late Gordon A. and Virginia Arnold Deaver. He spent his working years farming until his health problems required him to retire. He was married to Jeanette Smith Deaver who survives.
Funeral Services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at Columbia Missionary Baptist Church. Dr. Jeff Crabtree will officiate. Burial will follow in Azalea Memorial Gardens.
Surviving in addition to his wife are a daughter, Wanda Gardner of Columbia; a grandson, Channing Gardner; six brothers, Gordon Deaver, Jr., Robert Deaver, Allen Deaver and Ray Deaver all of Columbia, Michael Deaver of Roper and Paul Deaver of Kill Devil Hills; four sisters, Nancy Roughton, Jean Walker and Sue Roughton all of Columbia and Donna Stewart of Charleston, W. Va.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Deaver was preceded in death by brothers, Charles Deaver and Melvin Deaver; sisters, Ann D. Willoughby and Fay D. Bateman.
The family will receive friends at Bryan Services-Columbia Community Chapel, 523 Highway 64 East, Columbia on Friday from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. and other times at the home of Tony and Nancy Roughton, 456 Riverneck Road, Columbia.
