Mrs. Laura Elizabeth Swain, 92, of 3843 Backwoods Road, Roper, died Feb. 14, 2008 at her home.
A committal service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at Toodle’s Cemetery.
Mrs. Swain was born Feb. 15, 1915 in Washington County. She was the daughter of the late John William Chesson and Maggie Wynn Chesson. She was a member of Holy Temple Church of Lord Jesus Christ, where she served as Mother of the Church. Her husband, Roosevelt Swain, preceded her in death.
Survivors include six sons; John William Swain, Roosevelt Swain, Roy Rogers Swain, David Swain, McClain Swain, all of Roper and George Washington Swain of Boston; four daughters, Joyce Swain of New York, Mary Swain of Roper, Macrinia Killebrew and Jerica Williams, both of Boston; one sister, Louise Smith of Virginia Beach, Va.; 52 grandchildren and 90 great-grandchildren.
Arrangements are by Toodle’s Funeral Home, Plymouth.
