Jovany Angeles had a great time playing soccer on the same field where he used to dazzle Washington Pam Pack soccer fans.
The former Pam Pack star was the main attraction Saturday at Washington’s J.G. ‘Choppy’ Wagner Stadium. A fund-raiser soccer game was held to benefit Angeles, who incurred large expenses while recovering from a car accident.
Several alumni showed up to play in the game.
A large gathering of fans showed up to watch the game and donate money.
Justin Godley, a former Pam Pack standout who helped organize the event, said some 30 former players showed up for the game. He was impressed with the turnout, including the fans.
Godley said nearly $1,500 has been raised to help Angeles. Donations are still being accepted.
Those wanting to donate may send a check in any amount in care of Angeles to P.O. Box 2961, Washington, N.C., 27889.
Godley would like to see the alumni gather every year for a game.
Angeles and Godley agreed that the best part of the evening was gathering for a team photo.
Angeles said he appreciated all the support.
