Mrs. Delzora Norman Rhodes, 80, of 15745 N.C. Highway 32 North, Roper, died Monday, March 10, 2008, at home.
A funeral will be conducted Sunday at 2:30 p.m. in Shiloh Church of Christ (Disciples of Christ), Roper, with Elder Daniel Gilliam Jr. officiating. Burial will follow in Shiloh Memorial Garden, Roper.
Mrs. Rhodes was born in Washington County on July 27, 1927. She was the daughter of the late James Richard and Commie Norman. She was married to Louis Rhodes Sr., who preceded her in death. She was a homemaker. She was a member of Shiloh Church of Christ (Disciples of Christ), Roper, where she served on the usher board for 40 years, and in the outreach choir and Golden Ages.
Survivors include her children, Louis Rhodes Jr. of Richmond, Va., and Verdell Rhodes Haughton of Roper; seven grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; two brothers, Sylvester Webb and Charles Webb of Roper; two sisters, Pauline Culler of Philadelphia, Pa., and Ora Allen of White Plains, N.Y.
The family will receive friends today from 6-7 p.m. at Puckett-Purkett Funeral Service, Roper.
