Mr. John McKinley Adams Sr., formerly of Blounts Creek, died Monday, March 17, 2008, at Durham Regional Hospital in Durham.
A funeral will be conducted at 12:30 p.m. Saturday in Leon Randolph Funeral Home, 208 W. Martin Luther King Jr. Drive, Washington, with apostle Eugene McNeal, pastor of Word of Faith Church of Durham, officiating. Burial will follow in Memorial Gardens, Core Point, Blounts Creek.
Mr. Adams was born in Vanceboro on Jan. 16, 1929. He attended the public schools. He was a former employee of Singer Manufacturing Co. of Chocowinity as a furniture maker.
Survivors include one daughter, Cloretha Adams of Massachusetts; four sons, Elbert Green of Winterville, William Green of Oxon Hill, Md., John M. Adams Jr. of Durham and Demond Adams of Japan and a host of grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends at noon Saturday at Leon Randolph Funeral Home, 208 W. Martin Luther King Jr. Drive, Washington.
