Lois Green Brown

GREENVILLE — Mrs. Lois Green Brown, 85, passed away on March 19, 2008 at Pitt County Memorial Hospital with family at her side.
The funeral service was conducted Friday in the First Presbyterian Church. Burial in Greenwood Cemetery.
Mrs. Brown was born to Essie Mae Jones and Claude Lafayette Green on August 11, 1922. She spent her early life in Martin County. She graduated in 1943 from ECTC with a degree in Home Economics Education. She taught school in Washington, NC before her marriage to William Watson Brown on June 17, 1944.
Mrs. Brown was a loyal and active member of First Presbyterian Church for 55 years. She served her church in many capacities and in 1987 was awarded an Honorary Life Membership from the Women of the Church.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, and a brother, Claude L. Green, Jr.
She is survived by her daughter, Ann Cherry and husband, Jay and their children, Christian Earp and husband, Johnathan, and Jason and Courtney; sons, Bill Brown and wife, Jane and their children, Will Brown and wife, Georgia, and Betsy, Don Brown and wife, Linda and their daughters, Lilli, Hannah, and Annabelle, Bob Brown and wife, Reva, and their daughter, Camilla, Brad Brown and wife, Debbie and their children, Watson, Sudie, and Ellie, Tom Brown and wife, Leanne and their children, Thompson and Bailey; brothers, Dick Greene, and Billy Green and wife, Lizzie; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
