Mrs. Vivian Ricks Parrott, 91, of 6725 U.S. Highway 264 East, Washington, died Monday, March 24, 2008, at Britthaven Nursing Home of Washington.
A funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Paul Funeral Home, Washington, with William Roberson officiating. Burial will follow in Oakdale Cemetery. Pallbearers will be her grandsons: Zackary Sparrow, Franklin Paige Jr., Phillip Bullock, Joseph Bullock, David Windley, Aaron Windley and Grayson Parrott.
Mrs. Parrott was born in Beaufort County on June 21, 1916. She was the daughter of the late John Samuel Ricks Sr. and Iola Gray Swanner Ricks. She was a graduate of the former Highland High School. On Oct. 14, 1933, she married James Floyd Parrott Sr., who preceded her in death May 8, 1971. She was a homemaker. She was a member of Tranter’s Creek Church of Christ.
Survivors include three daughters, Betty Lou Bullock of Lanexa, Va., Rita Parrott Paige of Jamesville, and Trudy Parrott Sparrow of Belhaven; three sons, James Floyd Parrott Jr. of Williamston, Ronnie Parrott of Morehead City, and Mickey Parrott of Greenville; 17 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Iris Nicole Parrott; an adult daughter, Carolyn P. Windley on Jan. 23, 2000, and an adult son, Phillip Parrott on Feb. 20, 1982.
The family will receive friends at the home of her son, Ronnie Parrott, 6725 U.S. Highway 264 East, Washington.
