Mr. Joseph Ray Leary, 80, of Beaufort County, died Thursday, March 27, 2008, at Britthaven of Washington.
A graveside service will be conducted Saturday at 2 p.m. in Pamlico Memorial Gardens with Tony Krantz officiating.
Mr. Leary was born in Martin County on Oct. 20, 1927. He was the son of the late William and Lucy Rogers Leary. He was married to Coleen Ingalls Leary, who preceded him in death. He had been a resident of Beaufort County for 60 years. He was a farmer and worked at the Farmer’s Warehouse in Greenville for 40 years.
Survivors include two sons, Ray Leary of Chocowinity and Ron Leary of Washington; two sisters, Mildred Hoell and Christine Whitaker; three brothers, Raymond Leary, Mack Leary and Albert Leary; and two grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Elmer Leary and Bob Leary.
At the request of the family, there will be no visitation at the funeral home or at the home.
