AURORA — William “Bill” Montgomery, 63, died Thursday, March 27, 2008 in Wilmington, NC.
A celebration of Bill’s life will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at the home of his daughter, Leigh Coudriet in Carolina Beach, NC.
Bill was born on August 15, 1944 to the late Francis and Mary Myers Montgomery in Rockford, IL. He served in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam War. He retired from PCS Phosphate in Aurora, NC after 30 years as a master electrician. Bill was a beloved husband, brother, father and grandfather.
He was preceded in death by his sisters, Barbara Higdon, of Sardis, MS, and Joan Philbee of Spartanburg, SC.
He is survived by his: wife, Ann Hathaway Montgomery; daughters, Michelle Montgomery Lee and husband, Bobby of, Aurora, NC, Leigh Montgomery Coudriet and husband, Chris of Carolina Beach, NC; four grandchildren, Kaitlyn and Harrison Lee, Montgomery and Silas Coudriet; one sister, Sandra M. Gran and husband, Ralph Gran, of Indianapolis, IN; one brother, Frank “Butch” Montgomery, of Aurora, NC; and was loved by many including his extended family and friends; Timothy and Christy Philbee, of Taylors, SC, Kirk, Debra and Madeline Mizelle, Douglas and Chris Oakley, all of Greenville, NC, Larry and Gloria Rice, of Rockford, IL, and Thomas and Shirley Rider, of Grove City, PA.
