Mr. William Glen Davenport, 53, of Roper, died Monday, March 31, 2008, at Pitt County Memorial Hospital in Greenville.
A funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Scuppernong Church of Christ with Cleve Edwards and Larry Evans officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Mr. Davenport was born in Tyrrell County on Oct. 12, 1954. He was the son of Marjorie Phelps Davenport and the late Morris Daniel Davenport. He was a farmer. He was married to Amy Byrum Davenport, who survives. He was a member of Scuppernong Church of Christ.
Survivors include two sons, Bradley Davenport of Elizabeth City and Daniel Davenport of Edenton; one brother, M. Gordon Davenport of Roper and two grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one brother, Danny Davenport.
The family will receive friends today from 7-9 p.m. at Scuppernong Church of Christ and other times at the home.
