Mr. Jerry Thomas Reddick, Jr., 96, of 106 Frederick Road, Chocowinity, died Friday, April 4, 2008, at Beaufort County Hospital, Washington, N.C.
A funeral service will be conducted 1 p.m. Wednesday, April 9, 2008, at The Temple of Jesus Christ United Church, Washington, N.C. with Elder Leroy Spencer, T.H.B., officiating. Burial will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery, Washington, N.C.
Mr. Reddick was born August 16, 1911 in Beaufort County. He was the son of the late Millie Arthur Reddick and Jerry Thomas Reddick, Sr. He attended the public schools of Beaufort County. His employment was as a mill worker with various companies. During his early years he was a member of Mt. Hebron Church of Christ (Disciples of Christ), Washington, N.C. He later joined Faith Temple Pentecostal Church of God in Christ, Williamston, N.C. and served faithfully for over 25 years.
He was first married to Lillie Mae Windley who preceded him in death. On June 7, 1975, he was married to Martha Virginia Rogers Reddick who preceded him in death on October 22, 1996.
Survivors include six daughters, Helen Spencer and husband Elder Leroy Spencer, Brooklyn, N.Y., Patricia Harris, Apostle Maelene Dobson and husband Elder Ronald Dobson, all of Greenville, N.C., Dr. Brenda Stevenson and husband David Stevenson, Jr., Grifton, N.C., Evangelist Linda Hilliard, Chocowinity, N.C. and Captain Rosa Lofton and husband Truman Lofton, Iraq; seven sons, Jerry Thomas Reddick and wife Sylvia Reddick, New York, N.Y., Leroy Reddick and wife Rosa Reddick, Washington, N.C., Allie Reddick and wife Edna Reddick, Chocowinity, N.C., Sr. Chief Cleveland Rogers, Hampton, Va., Leamon Rogers, Johnny Edward Rogers and Nathaniel Rogers and wife Debbie Rogers all of Greenville, N.C.; 40 grandchildren and a host of great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one daughter, Gloria Toppins and one son, Jody Slade.
Family visitation was 6:30-8:30 p.m. Tuesday, April 8, 2008 at the Randolph Funeral Home Chapel, 219 North Bonner Street, Washington, NC, and other times at the home, 106 Frederick Road, Chocowinity.
