Mr. Edwin Horace Carson, of 1050 Crescent Green Drive, Cary, died at home on April 16, 2008, the day before his 87th birthday.
Edwin was born April 17, 1921, in Jamesville, N.C., to O.G. and Nancy Elizabeth Carson. He served his country in WWII as a staff sergeant in the Pacific theater. He married Dorothy Maude Chase on January 27, 1945. A graduate of Elon College, he later obtained a Master’s Degree from George Peabody College, and pursued a career in Finance in Nashville, Tenn. An avid bowler, fisherman and hunter, Edwin was active in the community and a long time member of First Baptist Church, Nashville. Following retirement, Edwin and Dorothy moved to Franklin, Tenn., where they resided until 2006, when they moved to Cary, N.C., due to declining health.
Edwin was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy, his parents, and four sisters, Dorothy Gaylord, Rachel Martin, Edna Jendres and Mary Lou Brown.
Survivors include his brother-in-law Marion B. Chase Jr. and wife, Jean, of Cary, and several nieces, nephews and good friends.
Funeral, Saturday, April 19 at 11 a.m. at Biggs Chapel in Williamston, N.C. Burial, Jamesville Cemetery, Jamesville, N.C.
Visitation Saturday from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. at Biggs Funeral Home in Williamston.
