Mr. William “Bill” Paul Garrison, 54, of N.C. Highway 171, Jamesville, died Sunday, April 20, 2008, at Craven Regional Medical Center in New Bern.
A funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday in Maple Grove Christian Church with the Rev. Jay Hardison officiating. Burial with full military honors will follow in the Roberson Cemetery, N.C. Highway 171 in the Farm Life community.
Mr. Garrison was born in Holyoke, Mass., on March 9, 1954. He was the son of the late Robert Henry Garrison Sr. and Mary Madeline Agassiz. He served in the Marine Corps and retired from the Army. He was married to Eileen Daly Garrison, who survives. He was a Master Gardener. He was a member of the Moose Lodge in Havelock. He was a member of Maple Grove Christian Church.
Survivors include five brothers, Robert Garrison of Havelock, David Garrison of Belchertown, Mass., Gary Garrison and Michael Hook, both of Chicopee, Mass., and Richard Garrison of Plattsburg, N.Y.; and three sisters, Pauline Partilious of Springfield, Vt., Christine Blow of Plattsburg, N.Y., and Shirley Underwood of Springfield, Mass.
He was preceded in death by one son, William Paul Garrison Jr. and one sister, Sylvia Buckley.
The family will receive friends Wednesday from 7-8:30 p.m. at Walker Funeral Home, Williamston.
