Raymond E. “Bro” Norman

Mr. Raymond Earl “Bro” Norman, 57, of 429 Boush St., Roper, died Monday, April 21, 2008, at Washington County Hospital in Plymouth.
A funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday in Bethel Church of Christ (Disciples of Christ) with Elder Benny Mackey officiating. Burial will follow in the Norman family cemetery.
Mr. Norman was born in Washington County on March 10, 1951. He was the son of Marie Gibson Norman of Roper, and the late Silas Norman Sr. He worked as a nurses aide at Washington County Hospital. He was a member of Bethel Church of Christ (Disciples of Christ).
Survivors include one daughter, Berdie McCray of Seaford, Del.; six brothers, Billy Ray Simpson and Alvin Norman, both of Roper, Silas Norman Jr. of Jamesville, Marvin Patrick of Florida, Calvin Norman of Chesapeake, Va., and Gregory Patrick of Ahoskie; six sisters, Margie Cooper of Brooklyn, N.Y., Linda Winslow and Carolyn Whitaker, both of Milwaukee, Shirley Smith of Raleigh, and Darlene Norman and Shirlene O’Neal, both of Plymouth; and three grandchildren.
The family will receive friends today from 7-8 p.m. at Bethel Church of Christ (Disciples of Christ), and other times at the home of his mother, 10290 N.C. Highway 32 North, Roper.
Arrangements are by Toodle’s Funeral Home, Plymouth.
