Mrs. Mary Lee Hudson Blanchard, 89, of 211 Oak Drive, Washington, died Sunday, May 4, 2008, at Beaufort County Hospital in Washington.
A funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Paul Funeral Home, Washington, with the Rev. Dr. Jimmy Moore officiating. Burial will follow in Oakdale Cemetery. Robin Hudson, C.S. Elks, Frank Belote, Chuck Eaton, Fred Williamson and Bill Dyer will serve as pallbearers.
Mrs. Blanchard was born in Pitt County on April 6, 1919. She was the daughter of the late Snode Allen Hudson and Ella Jane Boyd Hudson. On Aug. 1, 1945, she married Stuart Ellsworth Blanchard, who survives. She was a homemaker. She made her home in Oklahoma City, Okla., for many years until returning to eastern North Carolina in 1980. She was a member of First Baptist Church, Washington.
Survivors include one sister, Susie Buck of Greenville.
She was preceded in death by one brother, Mayhue Hudson; a half brother, Josh Ham and a half sister, Amy Elks.
The family will receive friends today from 7-8:30 p.m. at Paul Funeral Home, Washington.
