Ms. Beverley Stevens Rubado, age 71, of 575 Oak Grove Inn Rd., Selma, died Thursday May 15, 2008.
Memorial services will be 2 p.m. Monday, May 19, 2008 at Paul Funeral Home of Washington and will be conducted by Maxie Gavin. Brandon Dowdy, Jayson Dowdy, Austin Rubado, Kristopher Rubado, Jamie Ward, Richard Schoppaul and Nabe Mills will serve as honorary pallbearers.
Ms. Rubado was born in Blossburg, PA on August 14, 1936 and was the daughter of the late Louis Hatherill and Edith Hatherill of Syracuse, NY who survives. She was a member of Unity Church of Christ and in 2006 retired as a bookkeeper for D. S. Swain Gas Co.
Survivors include one daughter, Bonnie Dowdy of Washington; one son, Kelly Rubado and wife Linda of Micro; one sister, Janet Smyth of Camillus, NY; three brothers, Alvin Jackson of Gilette, PA, Richard “Dick” Hatherill of Syracuse, NY, Danny Earley of Browns Mill, NJ; six grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
One son, Donald Francis Rubado Jr.; one daughter, Amber Gay Rubado and one sister, Margaret “Peggy” Guadagno preceded her in death.
The family will receive friends from 6:30 p.m. until 8:30 p.m. Sunday, May 18, 2008 at Paul Funeral Home of Washington and other times at the home of her daughter, Bonnie Dowdy, 1237 Maple St., Washington or at the home of her son, Kelly Rubado, 575 Oak Grove Inn Rd., Selma, NC 27576.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Beaufort Co. Humane Society, P.O. Box 8, Washington, NC 27889.
